Projects

Verifying Replicated Data Types
under Prof. KC Sivaramakrishnan, IIT Madras (Under Graduate Research Course) · Aug. 2025 - Present

  • Ported Neem, a framework for automated verification of mergeable replicated data types (MRDTs) and state-based convergent replicated data types (CRDTs), into Lean using the Loom framework developed at NUS
  • Working at the intersection between automated SMT-based proofs and interactive proving
  • Verifying Automerge, a Rust-based CRDT implementation, using the Neem framework
  • Using Plausible, a QuickCheck-like framework in Lean, to generate and visualize counterexamples

Coreset Selection for Adversarial Robustness
under Prof. Kaushik Roy, NRL, Purdue University · May 2025 - Present

  • Studied the effect of long-tailed distributions on adversarial robustness
  • Established a link between improved adversarial robustness and choosing easier training examples
  • Developed a training methodology using Average Input Gradient Norm (AIGN) to choose more prototypical samples for adversarial training
  • Submitted a paper to CVPR 2026 titled "Coreset Selection using Sample Hardness"

Mixed-Precision Activation Quantization using the QCFS Framework
under Prof. Gopalakrishnan Srinivasan, IIT Madras (Under Graduate Research Course) · May 2024 - Aug 2025

  • Benchmarked various neural network models such as AlexNet, SqueezeNet, MobileNet, etc. on RISC-V-based ESP32-C class microcontrollers
  • Developed algorithms for mixed-precision quantization on Spiking Neural Network (SNN) models
  • Resulted in submissions to TMLR and MLSys, titled PASCAL and NeuroFlex respectively, outlining a mathematically precise ANN-SNN conversion algorithm with minimal efficiency overhead and additional hardware requirements, as well as a novel mixed ANN-SNN architecture to improve utilization
  • Studying the impact of the algorithmic optimizations on hardware such as GPUs and TPUs

IoT Sensing and Networking with Drones
under Prof. Ayon Chakraborty, IIT Madras · Aug 2023 - Aug 2024

  • Built a drone from scratch using Pixhawk as a flight controller and Raspberry Pi as the main computer
  • Used the drone for various sensing activities, such as mapping RSSI values over a field with obstacles, and 3D-mapping a terrain using imaging synchronized with GPS coordinates
  • Worked on a DASH-based platform for end-to-end adaptive video streaming with the drone as the access point
  • Worked on integrating an RL-based resolution-selecting algorithm as an alternative to DASH for UAV-based video streaming

NeRF Acceleration on Mobile GPU
under Prof. Takamaeda Shinya, University of Tokyo, Japan · Dec 2024

  • Studied the runtime of the Intermediate Representation Runtime Environment (IREE) framework
  • Implemented a MobileNet model and studied the compilation process, including lowering to Multi-Level Intermediate Representation (MLIR)
  • Implemented simple LLVM passes for analysis and optimization
  • Proposed compiler and memory optimizations for running a NeRF model on the AGX Orin iGPU

Electronics and Software Member
Team Anveshak - Mars Rover Team of IIT Madras · Apr 2023 - Aug 2025

  • Part of the team which built the electronics subsystem of the rover, including the PCBs, from scratch
  • Involved in programming ESP32s and interfacing these with ROS for rover mobility
  • Worked on implementing Two Wire Automotive Interface (TWAI), Pulse Width Modulation, and a Pulse Counter for a rotary encoder using FreeRTOS
  • Built an autonomous arrow detection cum traversal stack, featuring a novel rotating-camera search algorithm, YOLOv8, and template matching; interfaced the IMU MPU6050 to accurately measure a 90 degree turn using RTOS
  • Developed a Controller Area Network (CAN)-based stack for end-to-end control of the rover
